London at last!

I finally land in London at the crack of dawn…now what? I whisk myself into one of those iconic black cabs. Yes, iconic and adorable but beware of the pricey fare. You are better off hopping on the tube if you are willing to schlep your luggage. Me? Not so much. Not after a long flight!

I arrive in my hotel hoping to be able to shower and take a cap-nap, asap. No luck…”your room is not ready yet, madame.” Bummer! But no worries. I take advantage of my free time in the hotel lobby and confirm all of my day trips again (OCD much?) and map out my plans for the evening to come. A few hours later and I am finally napping away… and away… and away. Oops! I overslept, but it’s ok because this is literally the only day/night I have no definite plans. I decide to take advantage of the night owl hours and set off to find the London Eye. I was fortunate enough to only have a 15-20 minute walk to the big ol’ eye, but unfortunately, I had a blonde moment. Now it seems to be a habit recently that every time I travel solo there happens to be some sort blooper that I keep on the hush hush. But now that I’m blogging, I guess I’ll share… ready for it?? I took my “supposed” 15-20 minute walk, three times! Huh? I literally walked in a big circle THREE TIMES!!! How does someone get lost trying to find the London Eye… only the tallest ferris wheel in all of Europe! Leave it to me. I decided it just wasn’t my night and grabbed some dinner and then off to bed. I hope tomorrow will bring a fresh new start, bright and early with no never ending circles. I will find you London Eye!
